Tarisai Madambi has always been a game changer and is recognized for her leadership on KPMG’s Black ERG. She and her ERG were recently named Black Employee Resource Group of the Year at the Obsidi By BPTN Awards, presented by BMO. Tarisai’s leadership to drive Black employee engagement, recognition, retention and career growth within her company has been transformational to the Black professionals within the firm. Her commitment to creating an inclusive workplace has garnered praise from colleagues and industry experts.

Meet Tarisai Madambi: The KPMG Trailblazer Championing Equity and Inclusion

Tarisai Madambi is a technology leader at KPMG and a passionate advocate for equity and inclusion. She has been a driving force behind establishing KPMG’s Black Professionals Network in 2019 and continues to drive transformational change at KPMG and beyond.

Driven by an unwavering vision, Tarisai championed the creation of an empowering workplace that recognizes and celebrates the value of diverse experiences and insights. In collaboration with a team, she established a dedicated platform to support the expanding community of talented Black professionals at KPMG. Tarisai’s ambition was clear: to foster the development and advancement of exceptional Black talent, understanding it as an undeniable driver of business success.

Impact of Madambi’s Work on the Black Tech Ecosystem

In the spring of 2020, as the US grappled with systemic issues such as the unjust killing of Black people by police and racism, Tarisai courageously became the voice of consciousness, awareness and understanding of anti-Black racism in Canadian institutions, workplaces, and communities.

As the Director of KPMG’s Management Consulting Advisory practice, Tarisai maintains her focus on elevating the role of finance as a strategic business partner, embedding new technologies and innovation to deliver data-driven insights. She is also a member of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – Toronto board of directors and chairs its Audit and Finance Committee.

Tarisai’s leadership has catalyzed positive change at KPMG and beyond.  She’s led Black professional inclusion campaigns, which have multiplier effects across many firms. In addition, the same campaigns have also helped create spaces for Black professionals to thrive and be more impactful changemakers in business. Tarisai Madambi’s professional work is a testament to the power of commitment and determination to drive tangible business impact. Her unwavering dedication to promoting sustainable business growth through Black professional inclusion has earned her the recognition she deserves. In addition, her leadership has created a support network for Black professionals in the business and tech industry.
