🚀 Getting Started & Membership

1. What is Obsidi®?

Obsidi.com is an all-in-one networking platform for professionals to build relationships, connect with companies to bridge the "network gap," and level up their careers. Anyone can join regardless of ethnic or racial affiliation.

2. How do I join?

You can sign up via social credentials (LinkedIn or Google) or email. Social: Click "Become a Member," select your network, grant permissions, and confirm your name and community status. Email: Click the mailbox icon, enter your details, and verify your account using the code sent to your email (expires in 90 seconds).

3. Permissions and Privacy

Why permissions? Obsidi® needs access to your name, photo, and email to build your profile automatically via social login. Your email address is never visible to other members, even if you are connected.

4. Can I join if I'm not in North America?

Yes. While the initial focus is North America (98% of members are in the USA and Canada), the community includes members in Europe and Africa.

5. How can I access Obsidi®?

Obsidi® is currently accessible via any browser. And the mobile app is available and the Apple/Google store.

6. I can't find an answer to my Question

You can submit Feedback or Questions via the "Contact Us" link in the footer or by emailing info@obsidi.com.

🔐 Account & Login Support

1. Troubleshooting Login

If you get "Error 403" from an email app, copy the link and paste it directly into a web browser. OR SSO Errors: If you get an "identity provider not recognized" error, you likely signed up via Google or LinkedIn. You must use that specific button to log in rather than the email/password field.

2. How do I reset my password?

Only users who registered via email can reset passwords. Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page.

3. What are the password requirements?

Must be at least 8 characters with one uppercase, one lowercase, one number, and one special character.

4. My SSO provider has written "Your identity provider is not recognized" error during sign-in.

If you are certain your email address is correct, this error typically occurs because your account is linked to a Single Sign-On (SSO) provider rather than a traditional password.

5. How do I fix an SSO error?

Check your login method: If your account was created using Google (@gmail.com), LinkedIn, or another third-party service, you must click the corresponding icon (e.g., "Sign in with Google") to log in. Avoid the "Reset Password" loop: If you originally signed up via an identity provider, the standard "Forgot Password" feature won't work for your account. You must authenticate through the original provider first. Verify the domain: Ensure you aren't using a work email that requires a specific corporate portal (SAML/Okta).

👤 Profile & Resume Management

1.How do I get 100% Completion?

To reach 100% completion, you must satisfy 15 factors including your photo, headline, experience level, industry, main goals, and resume. You can track this on your Dashboard.

2. How do I upload my resume?

Must be PDF or DOC format and under 5MB. Upload this in the "Experience" tab of your profile.

3. I am having problems with my photo

Profile images must be PNG or JPG and under 5MB.

4. Where did the Messages section move to?

Messages have moved from the bottom navigation to the top bar for easier access. Click/tap the Messages icon to view your conversations. On mobile, you can also access Messages through the hamburger menu.

5. How do I access my Profile?

Click/tap on your profile avatar in the top-right of the navigation bar. A dropdown menu will appear with options to view your profile, set your goals, manage notification settings, or sign out.

6. How do I change my notification settings?

Click your profile avatar → "Notification Settings" or navigate directly to the Notifications page and access settings from there.

7. What is a Career Goal?

Your Career Goal helps Obsidi personalize job recommendations and content for you. Set it in your Profile under the Overview section (e.g., "Seeking a mentor," "Find a Job," "Build my professional network").

8. What is the Dashboard / Leaderboard section?

The Dashboard (right panel on desktop) shows your key metrics at a glance: Profile Completion: Track your progress toward a complete profile Job Applications: View your applied and saved jobs Upcoming Events: See events you've registered for Your Connections: View recent connection activity

9. How do I switch between Tea Spot and Dashboard on mobile?

On mobile devices, you'll see toggle tabs at the top of the page. Tap "Tea Spot" to view the community feed or "Your Home" to view your dashboard and personal metrics.

☕ Social Features

1. What is the "Tea Spot"?

This is the main community feed where you can see "what’s brewing"—posts, announcements, and updates.

2. How can I post on Teaspot?

Posts are capped at 1,200 characters; comments are capped at 250 characters.

3. What type of media can I upload?

You can upload 1 video (max 50MB) or up to 4 images (max 1MB each) per post.

4. Can I post anything?

No. Inflammatory content will be deleted, and repeat offenders will be banned. Users can report inappropriate content directly.

5. What is "My Tribe"?

"My Tribe" is your professional network. Here you can manage connections, see pending requests, and discover new peers or companies.

6. Where are my Messages?

Messages are located in the top navigation bar.

💼 Jobs, Events & Communities

1. How do I find a job with Obsidi®?

First of all, you need a profile or resume to get matched to jobs and recruiters daily. After that, you can check the Jobs tab.

2. What are "Partner Picks" jobs?

High-priority roles curated specifically for the Obsidi® community.

3. What is the "For You" section?

AI-matched roles based on your specific profile details.

4. What are "Communities"?

Communities are groups created by other members or partners. You can join public groups or request access to private ones.

5. Admins vs. Moderators

Moderators triage content; Admins control access and guidelines. (Note: An admin cannot be "demoted"; they can only be removed from the group entirely).

6. Where are Obsidi® Events?

Find virtual, in-person, or hybrid events on the Events page.

7. Are there Events near me?

You can filter by location (e.g., Toronto) or format and save them for later using the bookmark icon.

8. How do I save a job for later?

Click/tap the bookmark icon on any job card to save it. You can view all saved jobs in the "Saved" tab.

9. How do I create a new Community?

Navigate to Communities → "My Communities" tab and tap the floating "+" button. Fill in your community name, description, and privacy settings.
