Qualification Standards

To apply, applicants must meet at least one of the following:

Ideal Candidate Profile

    • 1 to 3 years of relevant tech professional experience, OR
    • A tech university degree with transferable skills and a strong project portfolio
    All applicants must also:
    • Clearly explain their technical experiences, decisions, and problem‑solving approach
    • Maintain an active and reviewable GitHub and LinkedIn profile
    • Showcase practical project work relevant to their experience level
    • Communicate their thought process during technical discussions
    Career Pivoters & Self‑Taught ApplicantsWe welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Those pivoting into tech or coming from self‑taught pathways must demonstrate strong, practical project portfolios and be prepared to walk us through their work in detail.

AI-Enabled Engineering, from Day One

We’ve added practical AI throughout the bootcamp to address the market gap and keep pace with current tools and hiring expectations. Obsidi® Academy integrates real-world AI tools across the entire stack so graduates code, test, and document the way modern teams work.

12-Week Curriculum Snapshot

A quick glance at what your three months will look like

Week 1

Java fundamentals

Introduction to variables, data types, arrays, strings, and hands-on coding exercises.

Week 2

Object-oriented programming (OOP)

Concepts such as classes, objects, inheritance, encapsulation polymorphism, abstraction (interfaces and abstract classes), exception handling, wrapper classes, and static variables. Collection frameworks including lists, maps, and sets.

Week 3

Testing and Concurrency

JUnit testing, search and sort algorithms, Java generics, functional interfaces & lambda expressions, multithreading, algorithm analysis, and writing clean code.

Week 4

Introduction to Databases

Fundamentals of PostgreSQL-SQL commands (DDL, DML, DCL), joins, triggers, functions, stored procedures, views, ER diagrams, indexing, subqueries, ACID properties, and normalization.

Week 5

Spring Framework and Backend Development

Spring Annotations, JDBC, JPA, and Hibernate. Spring Mail, Spring Security, Spring TaskExecutor, and System Design.

Week 6

Spring Framework and Backend Development

Exception Handling in Spring. Build and test REST API endpoints in Spring with database integration. Implementing integration testing and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

Week 7

Frontend Fundamentals

Fundamentals of web development and front-end design, including HTML and CSS.

Week 8

Frontend In-Depth

Deep dive into CSS and Bootstrap, introduction to Tailwind. Fundamentals of and Object-Oriented Programming in JavaScript and TypeScript. Introduction to NodeJS, package managers, and asynchronous programming.

Week 9

React Fundamentals

Introduction to ReactJS, Formik, Yup, Tailwind within a framework, and Figma. Using React to create application frontends. The pub-sub model, React context, Redux, working with cookies and an intro to Authentication and cybersecurity topics.

Week 10

Advanced Frontend Development

Advanced asynchronous JavaScript and TypeScript. HTTP requests and routers. Hands on with Figma for design. Front-end debugging.

Week 11

Capstone Sprint

Apply all concepts learned over the previous ten weeks to develop the WeatherApp project from scratch.
